A few answers to questions I’m often asked. If something isn’t covered here, you’re always welcome to get in touch.

Wedding FAQ

How do you photograph weddings?

A. I photograph weddings in a relaxed, documentary way, focusing on what’s really happening rather than staging or directing everything. I’ll gently guide you when it helps (especially for portraits), but mostly I’m there to notice the small moments and let your day unfold naturally.

Do you take on many weddings each year?

A. I take on a limited number of weddings each year so the work can stay personal and unrushed. It means I can be fully present on the day, and spend the time each gallery deserves afterwards.
If it feels like a good fit, I’d love to hear about your plans.

What coverage do you offer?

A. I photograph full-day weddings as well as smaller celebrations, including elopements and intimate weddings. My coverage is never rushed, it’s about giving your day the space it deserves. Full details are on the Investment page, and you’re always welcome to get in touch if you’d like help choosing.

When will we receive our gallery?

A. Your full gallery will be delivered via a private online gallery, usually within 8–12 weeks of your wedding. Turnaround times can vary slightly depending on the time of year, as every image is edited by me personally. You’ll be able to download your images, share the gallery with loved ones, and order prints if you’d like.

How many images will we receive?

A. Rather than working to a fixed number, I focus on telling the story of your day fully. For a full-day wedding, this is typically several hundred carefully edited images. I believe in quality and narrative over quantity, nothing repetitive, nothing rushed.

Where are you based and do you travel?

A. I’m based in Ayrshire, Scotland, and photograph weddings throughout the UK and further afield. If you’re planning something away from home, travel is always discussed openly when you enquire.

Are you insured?

A. Yes, I hold full professional insurance, including public liability and equipment cover.

Motherhood, Baby & Family FAQ

What are these sessions like?

A. These sessions are calm, unhurried, and led by connection rather than posing. I work gently, allowing moments to happen naturally, whether that’s quiet moments with a newborn, playful family energy, or the in-between moments of motherhood. There’s no pressure to perform; you simply spend time together, and I document what’s real.

How long is a session and where does it take place?

A. Most sessions last around 90 minutes, allowing plenty of time for children to settle, babies to feed, and everyone to relax into the experience. Sessions can take place in your home or outdoors, depending on what feels most comfortable and meaningful for you. We’ll decide together what suits your family best.

When will we receive our images?

A. Your gallery will be delivered via an online gallery, typically within 3–5 weeks. Delivery times can vary slightly depending on the season. Every image is edited by me personally, with care and consistency, and your gallery will be easy to download, share, and revisit.

Can we upgrade to the full gallery?

A. Yes. Each session includes a curated selection of storytelling images, with the option to upgrade to the full gallery once you’ve seen your photographs. There’s no pressure, you can decide after viewing what feels right for you.

Virtual FAQ

What is a virtual session?

A. A virtual session is a guided photoshoot that takes place in your own home, using your phone. I direct the session remotely and capture the images in real time, just as I would if I were there with you. It’s a relaxed, intimate way to document everyday life, particularly suited to motherhood, babies, and families at home.

How does it work on the day?

A. Before your session, I’ll guide you through installing a simple app and talk you through what to expect. On the day, we connect via video call and I gently direct the session, suggesting light, angles, and moments. I capture the images remotely, then edit them in my signature style as I would any in-person session.

What do I need at home?

A. All you need is:
A smartphone (iPhone or Android)
Natural light (a window is perfect)
A stable place to rest your phone, a shelf, stack of books, or similar
If someone else is home and able to hold the phone for part of the session, that’s helpful but not essential. I’ll guide you through everything.

Is this suitable for families and babies?

A. Yes - especially so. Virtual sessions work beautifully for newborns, breastfeeding moments, quiet family time, and slower days at home. Because there’s no travel or unfamiliar environment, babies tend to stay settled, and families can relax into the session in their own space.
